Do you think McGrady, Nowitzki, Kidd(last few years) are overrated?

First, you could never say Kidd was overrated till a couple of years ago. Dallas made a stupid trade-i might've traded Martin for Kidd straight up... Kidd's not gonna impact a game like he used to, especially with a team whose star player is a gangly 7 ft jump shooter who chokes more than he takes over games.

Yeah Nowitzki and McGrady are talented - top tier as far as skills go. But I don't think you can call them great. McGrady's just been pathetic against Utah, Considering his skills. Close game, 4th quarter, your capable of dropping 20 but you only take a shot or two. Not the kinda star player I want on my team.

I'll take Monta Ellis over McGrady or Nowitzki anyday.

Just a few thoughts on these guys...

Jason Kidd: Not over-rated

J-Kidd has never won an MVP, though he should have the year Duncan stole it and is not considered one of the top 3 PG's of all time with Magic, Zeke and Stockton, though he should be.

Tracy McGrady: Not over-rated.

If the general concensus was that T-Mac was an MVP type player or a Top 5 guy then he would be over-rated. However, the truth is that everyone knows T-Mac is a scorer and a freak athlete that would be best served as a #2 option (like Pau Gasol). That being the case, he is not over-rated.

Dirk Nowitzki: Over-rated.

Dirk has an MVP trophy and yet he is nowhere near that level of player, so yes, he is over-rated. Of course, Dirk is a better player then T-Mac and is also better then the current run down version of J-Kidd, so the over-rated label can also be taken with a grain of salt.

Don't be surprised to see all three of these stars "shopped" by their respective front offices this year.

I could see the Mavs trading Kidd to the cavs for expiring contracts and draft picks or even to the Knicks, along with Dampier for Marbury (exp. contract), Curry (would thrive next to Dirk) and some young talent (Nate Robinson, Wilson Chandler, etc).

I could see the Mavs even offering Dirk up for one of the following combos: Redd/Villanueva, Brand/Maggette.

I could (and would love to) also see the Rockets trade T-Mac, Aaron Brooks and the #25 pick to the Bucks for Michael Redd (would thrive with yao Ming) and Yi Jianlin (Chinese Twin Towers with Yao!
